Good Monday Morning...

to you!  It just seems that this Monday morning needs a greeting of this type.  I had a doozy of a weekend, and I suspect that others might have as well.  So again, with all the gusto and inflection of Robin Williams in Good Morning, Vietnam, I wish you a Good Monday morning!  Here's to it being smoother than expected, quieter than normal, inspired rather than deflated, and more efficient than historically.

Let today be that in which you recognize that the mercies of the Lord are new to you this morning, that His compassions are refreshed to you, and that yes, indeed, He made the sun to rise on you.

May it be a day where you spend time with Him alone, reading His Word and drinking deeply in the mind-renewing truths to see the transforming changes in your life.  May I suggest, Psalm 86:1-13 for a right perspective of who He is and who you are.

May it be a day where you hug your children more tightly, listen to their requests more closely, and have all extra reserve for the demands of the day, and even that they nap longer than usual.

May laundry and kitchen tasks, errands and chores, cleaning and organizing go as smooth as Bruster's frozen yogurt, and maybe you'll even be able to treat yourself and the littles to that as well.

I'm no Pollyanna.  I know that Mondays represent all the freshness and answer of "today's the day to start..." but often only hold the deflation by night time that once again you failed.  So I don't bear these tidings to you lightly, but in the confident expectation that a believer, saved by grace through faith in Christ, has at her heart the desires of the Lord, is being sanctified by the opportunities, crises included, and will be shown in the end to reflect the Lord Jesus Christ.

May His blessings of for your good and completely for His glory be upon your head, and mine, this Monday morning!

  2. How I needed that refreshment this morning. It was a long night as our LoveBug struggled with a nose so stuffed full of stuff that he was gulping air. Mommy got very little sleep and LoveBug not much more. It's invigorating to know that a fresh, piping hot batch of His mercies are just waiting for us every morning.

Can you tell that I'm a foodie?
