I am thankful for Husband today. His tender care for me in this current health issue is only the most recent living out of our marriage vows, in sickness and in health. I had to rouse him from a sound sleep pretty early this morning to help me get to the bathroom. And while admittedly he is not a morning person, he ministered to me with patience and gentleness.
He can make me laugh like no other. He is my best friend. He is a servant to our family and to others. I am grateful for his life that demonstrates fear of God not fear of man. I am grateful for his hardworking ethic, his stand for truth and his spiritual leadership of our home.
When we were putting together our wedding vows, Husband said he wanted to add a verse from Romans 8. We did, and often in our marriage I have thanked God for the instinct He gave to Husband to do so for the verse is a statement of foundational truth that has secured us through multiple life crises, "For if God is for us, who can be against us?" It is a verse we have often remembered as the banner of Christ we stand under as God's children.
I am grateful for my Husband. He is a good gift from the Lord.
Wow. I hope your husband reads this; he will be blessed by your words and inspired to continue serving his precious wife. I am thankful for my husband also. Sometimes I feel sorry for him, like he got a “lemon” when he got me, but he sticks with me through thick and thin. And I am so grateful.
