Thanksgiving #24....

I am thankful for Husband today. His tender care for me in this current health issue is only the most recent living out of our marriage vows, in sickness and in health. I had to rouse him from a sound sleep pretty early this morning to help me get to the bathroom. And while admittedly he is not a morning person, he ministered to me with patience and gentleness.

He can make me laugh like no other. He is my best friend. He is a servant to our family and to others. I am grateful for his life that demonstrates fear of God not fear of man. I am grateful for his hardworking ethic, his stand for truth and his spiritual leadership of our home.

When we were putting together our wedding vows, Husband said he wanted to add a verse from Romans 8. We did, and often in our marriage I have thanked God for the instinct He gave to Husband to do so for the verse is a statement of foundational truth that has secured us through multiple life crises, "For if God is for us, who can be against us?" It is a verse we have often remembered as the banner of Christ we stand under as God's children.

I am grateful for my Husband. He is a good gift from the Lord.

  1. Wow. I hope your husband reads this; he will be blessed by your words and inspired to continue serving his precious wife. I am thankful for my husband also. Sometimes I feel sorry for him, like he got a “lemon” when he got me, but he sticks with me through thick and thin. And I am so grateful.

  2. Beautiful post, Elle. What a blessing a good marriage grounded in our faithful God is!

  3. A wonderful tribute to your husband, Elle.

Have a blessed day tomorrow with him and the rest of your family!

  4. Praise the Lord for men who stand for truth and not be pushed around by wicked men. We need more men like this!

Hope your recovery is getting better.
