I am thankful today for the company of friends. While recovering from my surgery, I am being well taken care of entertainment wise by friends stopping in and giving me reason to laugh, which is the best medicine for me. It doesn't matter how I feel necessarily, when I hear that a friend has come by to cheer me, I am instantly cheered.
Hospitals are not always happy places. I know that because I've spent a great deal of my life in hospitals. However, they are like any environment. Determined by those who occupy their space. So choosing to occupy my current space with friends and family, with laughter and thanksgiving, with thoughtful means and ways, gives joy whether happiness is present.
I'm so glad to see this post and know that you're recovering well in the company of family and friends, and in the love of the Lord! My prayers continue for you, Elle!
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of Paul when he was in prison praising the Lord :0)
