ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun; we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun.
One of the sweetest things about the Bible study I go to is the hymns that are sung. This morning we sang Amazing Grace. Hearing over 200 women sing that hymn and then sing the 5th verse (quoted above) a cappella......still gives me goose bumps in remembrance.
I am incredibly grateful for that group of women and how they have a passion for God's Word and God's people. Our lesson was on Isaiah 1. Looking at the depth of Judah's sin and corruption and then reading of the greater depth of God's hope given to the remnant, offered in justice and redemption. Again, goose bumps.
During the summer when I thought about how in the world was this study going to be accomplished, in all of its poetic literature and incredible prophecy, I was truly shell-shocked at the task. Yet, the Lord's goodness is being displayed to me weekly as He is showing me the amazing gospel in each passage, in each prophecy, and in each poetic image.
He alone is the Holy One of Israel. How precious to be His and how sweet to be in the company of those who delight in His mercies.
Good for you. My good friend home schooled her 4 children. Each of them has grown up to be wonderful, creative and intelligent adults. My neice now is home schooling her 4 girls. Each has tried the 'system' school for a year and returned home. They appreciate the extra attention and extra time to do other things. So much is wasted on the bus rides to and fro and down time in school. Many parents are concerned with curriculm and how they approach controversial subjects which at home can be dealt with openly, honestly and with love. Again, good for you!
