is on the line today.
Last night's dinner was awesome! I made panko pecan breaded catfish fillets, baked crispy with salted sweet potato fries and a fresh salad drizzled with blackberry dressing. Dessert was a fresh praline peach pie with whipped topping.
My mouth is actually watering from writing that. Good thing I have leftovers for lunch.
But today's task is to stay on task. The boys come home from Shooting Camp this afternoon and I am struck with the need to lie on the couch and watch chick flicks until I have to go pick them up.
However. I need to yank my Wednesday undies into action with final preparations for our reading group meeting tonight; namely making a snack item for our group, and performing a quick clean up so the group won't focus on the house filth but instead on the book. We're discussing The Bruised Reed by Richard Sibbes.
And, I still have some thank you notes to write, some emails to return, and a couple more chapters to read of another book I'm working on. Blog readers and chick flicks will have to wait.
I don't want Wednesday Willpower to turn into Wednesday Woes.
What do you do to keep yourself on task?
"struck with the need to lie on the couch and watch chick flicks until I have to go pick them up." Now that I can relate to. Instead, do you know what I'm actually doing? Reading fiction!!!! FICTION! hmmm. What am I avoiding?
ReplyDeleteWhen I need to keep myself on task, I schedule appointments out of the house or invite someone over. Accountability.
