we had the opportunity to get together with some friends who have moved away from our hometown. We were all looking forward to those days together. And the reality met the expectations with satisfying fullness.

The days were busy with beach living, body surfing, wave crashing, sand shifting, surf walking, seafood eating, comfy clothes wearing, game playing, hilarious bellylaughing, life discussing, faith growing, prayerful fellowshiping activities. It was a sweet four days of time with those who have grown close to our hearts.

I'm always intrigued by who God brings into my life. I know that each person has played a part in growing my faith, whether through mutual edification or sanctification of hardship. In either respect, I can say with confidence that God is not accidental with the relationships He has given me.

I am thankful.

While my heart may yearn for the next gathering, I am content to know that distance has threaded the bonds more securely, the prayers more fervent, and the joy more complete.

I am truly thankful.

  1. Those days are so few and far between. Why is that? Friends are such a blessing. They're so difficult to make - true, authentic friends. I need to call my best friend. At the very least, we can have virtual coffee. I haven't even told her about my van yet. Thanks for the push.
