Dear Blog,...

I know that it has been a long time since I have written to you. I realize that leaving you for this long can cause you to have blog esteem issues or blog deprivation anxiety. But I assure you that I have had only the best reasons for not being present here.

I was present with life. You know, the type of life I write about here. Sometimes. Life with the boys--busy, laundry--lots and lots, homeschooling--finishing curriculum and starting new stuff, volunteering--at the Ronald McDonald House, and even a couple of field trips--like our local Tax Day Tea Party.

Most importantly, instead of you, I chose to be present in the Word of God. The last two weeks have been huge assignments in my Bible study, and you well know that one of the key agreements I made with you almost three years ago was that the Bible study came first. I haven't always been diligent in that promise, and you and I both know the consequences that occurred. I didn't want to go there again.

I studied some great things this last couple of weeks. Like, to love God with all your heart means to obey Him with all your strength, and to remember the Lord means that an action of obedience accompanies that remembering. Thereto, the study and learning doesn't account for much if I don't actually do.

Which is what I've been trying to do and why I haven't been here with you. But hang in there, blog. You still have a place in my life; you just don't own all my time. It's better for the both of us this way.
