The Word of God is...

that which obligates us to establish its standard for every sphere of living by and wherever the influence God gives to us.

When you consider that the first work of God's Word is to drive one to Christ, an evangelistic tool, pressing the gospel of Jesus Christ upon hearts so that the dead in sin are made alive because of the richness of God's mercy, then you recognize everyone needs God's Word. For a mom, the first mission field of this work is to press the gospel of Christ against the hearts and minds of her children, in fervent prayer that by God's rich mercy they would respond through faith given of grace.

The second work of God's Word is to be the standard for living out your love for Jesus Christ and His perfect work in yourself, your family, your work, your community, your church and your every sphere of influence. This work of establishing God's Word in your life means in how you conduct yourself through relationships superior and inferior, general and specific, new and old. God's Word is detailed in how a believer is to conduct herself not only by the example of Christ but in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The third work of God's Word is to be the standard for righteousness for nations in civil government. Considering how far this nation has come from a regard for God's Word gives sober and grieved understanding for the many injustices, tyrannous acts and unethical displays--all the natural consequences of a nation that has forgotten God Almighty.

Would indeed that God's people humbly, soberly, and reverently obligate themselves by the grace of God the work of establishing His Word in every sphere of life and living and loving one another.

  1. It's humbling to think that there are people in villages around the world who would rather have access to the Word rather than food while we think nothing of having multiple copies of the Bible scattered around the house. How can we be so casual about the Word when it has so much power to accomplish such awesome works?

  2. Thank you for your inspiring words today. I needed them. And, what Lori above said. I like what I'm reading here and believe I'll be returning again. God bless you and everyone who comes in to read your great posts, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
