The Word of God is...

perfect. This is the first rule of interpretation for Scripture. Clarity of insight comes from a proper interpretation and every document must be interpreted according to its nature and design. God is the unique Author of His Word and His nature and design in every part is perfect.

Thereto, the Word of God is perfect.

It would be great if every heart could receive that truth and have eternal rest. Unhappily so, there is every flavor of debate regarding things like what exactly is the Word of God and if men wrote the actual words on parchment, then which words are men's and which words are God's and my favorite, what words of God are relevant?

Each debate reveals more about the debater than the real topic of debate because the answer behind the questions is that, "I want to do what I want to do, and I don't want another's words telling me otherwise." Seeking a loophole that promises self-justification and rationalization and non-submission eventually becomes its own hanging noose.

Taking Scripture as God's Word is a painful, convicting process.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

Stating the Word of God is perfect means that His words bind man to a full inner and outer conformity without the additions or subtractions of man. What God has said He has meant. What God has said He has done, is doing and will do. The Word of God is perfect means that inherently His words hold no distortion or error. Regardless of man's lowest attempts to warp His words.

Assuredly, the Word of God is perfect--inherently, explicitly and essentially.

Amen! Is something that believers understand right away, or is this truth revealed as you grow in grace?

    Excellent. Look forward to more.
