To send you elsewhere...

this Friday is the best that I can do. Yesterday I woke up to aching teeth and nasal secretions that looked like I had snorted yellow Skittles. (I like word pictures.) So finally I relented to the fact that previous annoying head cold had mutated maliciously into its evil, big bullying brother The Sinus Infection, and called my doctor for a prescription. Telling the details of the color of your snot on the phone is a particular thrill only the privileged few can enjoy, and the listening boys can giggle about. The Z-pack is now flowing through my veins, and I can walk around without feeling like I'm chewing on glass.

However, complete thoughts are on sabbatical for the weekend. To wit, I leave the following discovered posts for your enjoyment, edification and education. See you next week!

1) Pulpit Magazine has posted an incredible excerpt from Charles Spurgeon on human desire and divine election. I double dog dare you to read it and not be humbled at God's amazing grace.

2) Connie at Practicing Theology tackles the topic of can a true believer really "lose" his/her faith. And she wants your thoughts on the matter as well. Be Scripturally prepared.

3) Kim at The Upward Call wisely counsels parents to pay the price of discipline now for true stress relief.

4) Christa at BlakeyBlog reminds us of the importance of studying the whole counsel of God rather than the more popular but empty pieces parts version.

5) Nathan at Shepherd the Flock steps on toes in comparing Romanish practice with current evangelical trends. If the shoe fits, some need to put on a truer sandal.

That's it. Have a blessed weekend. Worship the Lord God Almighty in Spirit and Truth on the Lord's Day. Humble yourself before His throne. Be filled with His Spirit that through faith you would do the good works He has prepared you to do as His workmanship.

  1. Oh wow - yellow skittles snot can never be a good thing. I hope the medications continue to do their work and you are able to rest and recover through the weekend. Thanks for the great links!

  2. Oh, nasty, nasty sinus infections.

About 13 years ago, I have septoplasty because my sinus infections were due to a deviated septum. Prior to that, I was miserable with regular, chronic sinus congestion. I know the misery. Once I had my surgery, I was fine, but I remember the discomfort.

Hope you are feeling better soon!
