are not for the faint of heart. Blog crush memes are for the hot and busy and tagged according to Jules at Everyday Mommy. She beckons me with a tag to play in her meme, and I do obey the bidding of such a true friend.
1. What was the first blog you read? The Wrestling Mat, written by some friends of ours. The blog addy was in their Christmas letter, and I couldn't resist seeking out the URL to see what it was about. From there I was transported to the dizzying heights of blogdom, blogvilia, blogopia, and blogosphere. All points that any blogger can easily get to via an internet connection, but sound like Tolkien rejects.
2. Do you still read that blog? Yes, I do. They are a lovely family that just recently added a new precious bundle to their family via adoption. They live the life of faith that they blog.
3. Do you have a blog crush, in other words, is there a blogger you’d love to meet? Jules didn't post a limit on blog crushes so I'm going to take some license here and list several writers that I'd love to meet: Ditto to the Pyromaniacs, although Jules would definitely have to do the cooking. I'd be giggling too much looking through the collection of posters I'm sure they carry with them at all times. I'd love to meet Clemntine because I've never met anyone with hair like that. The fact that she's not blogging anymore wouldn't stop me at all. I'd still camp on her doorstep and howl like a lonely pup until she brought me in and let me hear her tell tales. I'd love to meet Amy Scott of Amy's Humble Musings. I just want to be the fly on the wall in her house and watch how she spins gentle wisdom and humor out of the multitudinous ongoings of her family.
4. Upon meeting would you crumble and mumble under the pressure, blurt out something incoherent, or blush madly? For the most part, I'm not a nervous person under pressure. While I may tend to be quiet at first, I simply like to take the temperature of the environment, find my feet, and then let loose with conversation and laughter. Lots of laughter.
5. If you could have a long, leisurely lunch with one blogger whom you’ve never met, who would it be? Another toughie because the connections of blogvilia that lead to real phone conversations and correspondence grant you the thrill past the initial meeting. More than anything, I'd love to have a long leisurely lunch with the SolaMoms followed by an afternoon snack with Veronica of Toddled Dredge. I want Ellen B. and Lana G. to show me a cosmopolitan meal experience for supper, and I'd definitely end the evening on Jules' couch with coffee and chocolate, wearing elastic waisted pants. And again, lots of laughter.
This was a fun meme to think through. Thanks, Jules.
UPDATED: Kristie, a new blogger, over at My Journey Home also tagged me to participate in this meme, and I missed the tag. My apologies to Kristie as well as my thanks for the tag. Take some time to visit her new place and say hi! Kristie, when I'm out and about for all of that eating with everyone, can you book me for muffins and coffee with you the next morning?
Aww. I'm flattered.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great meme. I'm going to do it!
ReplyDeleteOh Lana G! and Ellen b. are so up to meeting you for a cosmopolitan dinner. Wouldn't that be a hoot! Maybe, maybe before we meet at the best feast of all in heaven...
