Feelings, wo-o-o feelings...

Remember this love song of easy listening fame?  Can't say that I miss hearing it either. However, I don't think Martin Luther had the Gemini song in mind when he wrote the following:

"For feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God,
Naught else is worth believing.

Though all my heart should feel condemned
For want of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart
Whose Word cannot be broken.

I'll trust in God's unchanging Word
Till soul and body sever:
For, though all things shall pass away,
His Word shall stand forever."

Martin Luther, 1483-1546

And all God's people said, "Amen," with feeling.

  1. Amen, amen and amen. May it be so with me.

  2. This quote is so good. I meant to comment yesterday, but I didn't. It was so very meaningful on a day when I really needed the reminder, though! Thanks for sharing it.
