Thankful for crockpots...

coffeemakers and microwaves. Conveniences that my great-grandparents did not have. Conveniences that make my life easier in the preparation of enjoyable food and drink pleasures.

Thankful for washing machines, dishwashers and dryers. Conveniences that at one time I did not have. Conveniences that give more time to the work of living though they take living work to operate.

Thankful for sewing machines, power drills, and lawn mowers. Conveniences that I haven't the slightest idea how to operate. Conveniences that other people in my life use to my benefit.

I am thankful for conveniences of present life.

  1. Me, too! And that reminds me; I'm making a crockpot meal today. Better get up and get it going!

It's a good recipe. I had it this weekend when we were visiting in Ohio. I'll share it on my blog today.

  2. OOOps! I thought your post was for CRACKPOTS and pulled up to show my human there was something written about him. It worked out he thinks crockpots are great and I was trying to help. Go figure.

  3. Amen, sister! Especially that washing machine thing! I can't imagine how our foremothers (that's a word, right?) managed to wash their families clothing and get anything else done as well. Seems to me it would have been a full-time job!

How true, how true. The good ol' days weren't really all that good. I am very thankful for many things that make like easier, including the Crockpot. I've cooked over a fire and I can tell you that plug-n-go is much easier :)

  7. Me, too! I don't know how I would survive without all our modern gadgets. Thanks for the reminder.
