It's Wednesday afternoon...

It's been raining all day. I've got Brunswick stew on the stove and bread bowls to put it into at supper. The entire meal was a gift of generosity from friends and connections. The warmth the stew will bring almost matches the warmth of the heart that brought it.

I had an amazing morning at Bible Study today. Events I had no control over occurred creating moments where God's ultimate control was powerfully seen leaving moments for me to remember the next time I think I know the answer. Hearts opened up and blessings were received. I was both an observer and participant. Don't ask me to choose which I like best.

Laughter and tears mingled. Hilarity found its match in sorrow. What was willingly given was gratefully received and the Name of Christ was exalted. I was both an observer and participant. Don't ask me to only practice one type of worship.

The privilege of serving in His courts, for His kingdom, is one from which I used to run. I knew the cost. It was too great. I chose to be a safe investor. Only put in what I know can be taken out. In my time frame.

That economic strategy brought personal bankruptcy. To know the cost of not serving is greater is the first step to abundance.  He really does take water and change it into wine. Today, I have drunk deeply of Him.

  2. As a Bible teacher, at turns both observer and participant, I love this. You're telling my story.
