Seismic activity recently reported...

in Georgia was caused by the numerous revolutions of one mom's top loading washing machine. When geologists tracked her down in her laundry room she exasperatedly confessed, "I might have overpacked one load. Or three. But the manufacturer claims that the machine can hold 12 pairs of jeans."

Further investigation revealed the woman's three sons and Husband to be the culprits behind the overwhelming laundry loads. Climatologists were also called in to give expert advice.

"The sudden shifts in our atmospheric conditions from chilly mornings to warm afternoons can be an unsettling factor in the lives of these women. The physical effect on a body factoring in the relative humidity, wind speed and direction, and actual relevant temperature physiologically causes one to change clothes even numerous times in a single day. Global warming is not considered a factor here necessarily."

While the current government administration has not commented yet, an unrevealed source stated that plans for a laundry bailout might be considered in future stimulus plans.

"I got a few days behind in the laundry, that's all," the mom remarked. "I am requiring the boys to help with the laundry and things should be restored to order in a matter of hours. Or days."

This elicited a call to the Labor Department regarding child labor laws and possible taxation issues. An attorney has been consulted on both sides.

"I just want the laundry to be done," were her last words as she disappeared again into her laundry room behind a pile of towels and sheets and jeans and shorts and shirts and socks.
