A morning walk that...

changed a life forever happened to a dear friend of mine recently. Walking off the bounty of Thanksgiving was that morning's routine. She was probably praying as she walked. Her character is such that the needs of those around her are often whispered to the Father with expectant faith that His answers are right and perfect. Certainly she considered her tasks for the day, the mundane and necessary, but her spirit is such that a lively attitude of joy concord with her obedience.

Life forever changed for her that morning. She was hit by a car and suffered multiple trauma. The list is long and medical, suffice it to say that the simplest of personal tasks are now touched with enormity of necessary care and life altering choices.

Since that time, I've seen the Body of Christ move its hands and feet for her. I've seen the Body of Christ weep for the tremendous loss and rejoice for the marvelous provisions. I've seen the Body of Christ suffer and groan with words that cannot be uttered for the intervention of the One whose intercession is assured. I've seen the Body of Christ be beautiful in spirit and truth.

It's a rare privilege, truly.

  1. We don't often stop to think about how such situations bring glory to God in the church as well as in the life of the one to whom "it happened."

God is being glorified in her life and in the church. And in you. Thank you for sharing this so that we can pray and thank God for His attending care.
