Something...

I've been thinking on a great deal lately is what the practical nature of obedience should look like in a Christian's life. How taking up the cross and following Christ is truly in the thoughts, words and actions of His disciples. As usual, God takes the opportunity of my children and therefore my parenting to expose both good and rotten fruit.

The diligence of consistency in both training and application of training is central. Godly wisdom is seen in the consistent exercise of obedience to God's truth.

May God work in me to cause understanding of His truth, to cause wisdom to be consistently exercised. May all good and pleasing fruit be to His glory alone!

  1. Yes to that.
On our walk this morning we were talking about how we want God to show us our wicked thoughts more and more and help us change those thoughts to more glorify Him. (the grumbling thoughts that pop up so quick, etc.) Anyway blessings on you as you are honest in seeking God's way in your life...

  2. May we truly be found faithfully obedient in dying to self, pressing on towards the goal and with diligent consistency, abiding in Him by meditating on His word day and night.

P.S. Isn't that why He gives us children? :)

  3. Fiona, yes, I have often groaned aloud that a significant part of God's sanctifying work in my life is done at the sticky hands of my sons, resulting in the kneeling knees of this mom. Thanks for a sweet chuckle of encouragement in my pressing forward.

Ellen B., I do want more and more of my thoughts to be after His truth and less and less of me. Grateful for your encouragement.
