with a supportive undergarment and put on makeup exactly one day this week. I've lived in my knit capri pants and tee shirts the whole week. I've brushed my teeth every day, even 4 times a day trying to get rid of the "snot sick" taste that strikes with a head cold and bronchitis, but I confess that I did not shave my legs every day. And the hair, well, it has not been too much of a priority either.
In fact (and feeling) the action and excitement level in this home has revolved around sneezing 45% less on Wednesday than on Tuesday. This girl was much in need of some good news. That news came on Thursday when I had to quickly run a child to husband down the street from our house when I noticed that amidst the overwhelming construction that is gaining on our little neck of the woods---a STARBUCKS is moving in.
A Starbucks with a drive-through window, on the side of the street most convenient to me, on the way to everything I have to go by, through or to. I think I might have teared up for a minute--or just needed to sneeze again.
Methodically, precisely, carefully, and with great anticipation, I clocked the distance from their driveway to mine--2.2 miles.
TWO POINT TWO MILES!
Thank you coffee people. This girl needed it.
That's the best news a girl could hear! Congratulations...I am a wee bit envious.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, to pay $4.75 for a cup of coffee. Grande' no less.
ReplyDeleteI am very happy for you but I think in your condition someone should hand deliver one to you...
ReplyDeleteAt my church we have a recovery group for people like you! :) Now, if only they would build a Chick-Fil-A.....
ReplyDeleteI have only recently begun to like coffee - and that is extremely doctored up with cream and sugar and flavoring. But it sounds like you will greatly enjoy your new addition! I, for one, would gladly do the dance of joy if we were to see an Olive Garden come to our town...
ReplyDeleteA Starbucks with a drive-through . . . oh yes, that's the good life.
