Can you have peach cobbler...

for breakfast? This was the question on my mind this morning.

Yesterday, I spent a horrendous two hour wait in standstill, bumper to bumper traffic trying to return home from a short visit to my sister's. When I got home, the acquired tension headache left me only able to lie down in a dark room while the boys tiptoed around upstairs, wisely leaving this mom to recuperate.

At some point, I realized that the particular fragrance only 25 lbs of fresh Georgia peaches emanates was coming from my kitchen. The thought of cooking anything was beyond my still throbbing head so Husband kindly took over feeding a breakfast-supper to the thankful boys.

Tension headaches, migraines and the like elicit a primal response in me to only want comfort food to eat, if I can eat anything at all. A good friend gave me a cobbler recipe of great ease, so as the throbbing decreased, I decided to make a peach cobbler. Better that, then the added stress of dealing with 25 lbs of rotten peaches. So one hour later, peach cobbler with whipped topping and toffee nut coffee helped melt away the last bits of afternoon stress.

Which returns me to the question this morning--can you eat peach cobbler for breakfast?

Yes, you can. I added a scrambled egg with a tablespoon of cheese for good measure. You don't want the breakfast police to show up and cause another tension headache, now do you?

Recipe for a tension reducing fruit cobbler:

Combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 cup sugar, a dash of salt, 2 tsp of baking powder and 1 cup milk with whisk, gently. Melt one stick of butter in a 9x13 glass dish in preheated 350 degree oven. Pour batter over butter and top with 4 cups of fruit (apples, peaches, blueberries, etc). Do not stir. Bake one hour. Enjoy at all meals!

  3. Hey if Denny's can serve breakfast 24 hours a day, you can eat peach cobbler 24/7 especially if it is medicinal!

Sorry about the headache! May it go away and not come back another day!
