A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

there was a woman who very regularly had many, if not diverse, but always complete thoughts. Whether anyone was listening or not, because trees fall in the forest all the time, she would regularly speak these thoughts aloud. A man entered her life who listened to her complete thoughts, and life was good.

And then one day, the complete thoughts began to fall apart into the busy efforts of life, into the noise and babbling of children, into the tyranny of the urgent. Fairly soon, the woman became distracted and irritable as the lack of complete thinking progressed. Theories of black space voids and stellar vacuum hole voids and hormonal disturbances voids were projected as reasons for the incomplete thoughts--the business of life and children was certainly too mundane a reason for incomplete thinking.

A ray of light shined into the darkness of distractibility and incomplete thinking when the woman read a Christmas letter noting the author's family blog at the bottom. "Blog?" she queried, but without google. "Is this some strange sort of ongoing, neverending Christmas letter?" But not so, for that link led to another link, and to another link, and to, well, the links just never stopped. The blogs began to grow in her thinking and speaking aloud to the computer because each one engendered a response, a desire to answer back, a wish to dialog via the internet.

And so a blog titled A Complete Thought was birthed. No following was ever intended, though each gentle reader is greatly appreciated and each thoughtful comment duly noted, and when appropriate, responded to. Comments are significant because they are the ball returning to the sender in a conversation. Friendships of emphasis and special attention have been occasioned through blogging and comments. Miles and geography bear no threat to the internet picket fence. No money is made because the writing is a labor of love, an enjoyment of time, and a mental outlet for complete thoughts.

Goals for A Complete Thought are in the title itself and fashioned in view of the chief end of man, "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." To glorify God in the thoughts that would turn readers to deeper questioning of the great and glorious attributes of God and Christ's work, to encourage and most assuredly challenge each one to read God's Words for growth of faith in life and practice. To enjoy Him forever in both humor and enjoyment of all God's good and perfect gifts, even those afflictions and temporal inconveniences that leave one asking the question, "What am I to learn in this?"

At first these complete thoughts were kept undercover of shy anonymity, desperately wanting to write and journal the thoughts, but not eager to have them read on a wide scale. Once publish is clicked, you own the thought across the neutronic internet waves. Responsibility for thoughts runs deep. Gradually, confidence in goals for blogging grew to the point of willingness to share with limited friends and family about the blog. It is unknown to me how many read or not. As regards advice, write because you love to write, and let those writings glorify God.

This post came from the following questions, featured by Chilihead at Don't Try This At Home. She's sponsored a blogging carnival, and you're invited to participate by signing up at Mr. Linky at her blog. Let me know in comments if you left your story. I'll stop by your internet picket fence and share a cup of coffee. Thanks for reading.

  2. "Responsibility for thoughts runs deep. "

*shiver* Did you have to say that? No, really, this is one of my worst fears about my blogging. That I may hurt someone somehow by my words...because they are not well thought out or anything. Just kind of - thrown out there randomly. And I am not a thoughtful person at all. :(

I very much enjoyed your post, and Love your title!
